Solana Beach, California
Solana Beach is a small seaside town within San Diego County. Home to approximately 13,000 residents, Solana Beach has views of the ocean to the west, and is located south of Encintas, north of Del Mar, and west of Rancho Sante Fe. Solana Beach was initially known as Lockwood Mesa and settled by the George H. Jones family in 1886. The area grew slowly throughout the 20th century, and began in 1917 with the development of the Lake Hodges Dam. One of the oldest residential areas in Solana Beach is the neighborhood of Eden Gardens, a community formed in the 1920s by Mexican farmers who worked as ranch hands on the large ranches in Rancho Sante Fe.
Solana Beach residents have the Family Court on 1555 Sixth Ave. as well as the Madge Bradley courthouse on 1409 Fourth Ave. available to them. These courthouses have jurisdiction over various family law cases such as dissolutions of marriage and paternity matters. Doppelt and Forney, APLC, has represented many clients who live in coastal San Diego. There are many issues in a family law case which Solana Beach spouses and parents have to face. The first, for parents, is that neither parent [under almost all circumstances] will be spending 100% of the day and night and all holidays and all summer with their child or children. This can be devastating but there is no option when parents are not living together and most divorcing spouses will not be cohabitating either during or after a divorce. Trying to seek a solution to this problem has many options. First, of course and best, is for the parents to reach an agreement. Second, is for the parents to go to Family Court at which a mandatory mediation will occur with Licensed Clinical Social Workers hired by the Courts to assist in an agreement. If an agreement is reached, then the Judge will make a court order unless violative of California law. If an agreement is not reached, then the mediator will prepare a written recommendation and give to both parents and to the Judge and the Judge will adopt these recommendations a majority of the time.
