Our legal topics listed under our family law heading on our home page include family law information, California divorce, information on the need to hire a divorce attorney, legal separation, marital status, dissolution of marriage, divorce and case classification conference, useful information for divorce, child custody, child support, property settlements and division, court orders, adoption, paternity, preparation of forms, domestic partnerships, retirement plans, social security benefits, San Diego divorce and pets, San Diego Divorce and living trusts, military retirement and disability pay, the Hague Convention and child abduction law, same sex marriage, information regarding advantages and disadvantages of selecting either a mediator or divorce attorney for legal representation, omitted property issues in marital settlement agreements and judgments, business valuation and employment benefits.
Our Articles include a move away article along with a template brief. In addition, we have an article on attorney fees. Our goal is to have at least one new article per month. These will be on different topics which are of interest of our website viewers. If you have a suggestion on a subject for an article which you do not see, please feel free to e mail your suggestion for our consideration. We want to provide the most relevant information possible.
Our Attorney Briefcase Program is a legal research program in which cases and codes can be searched by either subjects or codes or even topic areas. The areas of legal research in this program include attorney fees, bankruptcy, business interests, child support, community property issues, death of a spouse, domestic partners, domestic violence, employment benefits, enforcement, family residence/real property, income tax, interstate custody, jurisdiction, marital status, premarital and post marital agreements, procedure after trial, procedure before trial, spousal support and unmarried cohabitors. Our firm also receives weekly updates on the law via e mail from this legal research source. If you have an interest in any one area of the law, our firm will prepare a short synopsis from the categories in this legal research program and send to you at no charge for viewers of our website upon their written request.
Our Disso Master Program calculates temporary and permanent California state guideline child support and also temporary spousal support. One of the benefits of viewing our website is that our office will use this program to calculate one guideline support printout at no charge to you using your individual information to give you a realistic expectation of the support in your individual case at your written request. We will not only give you the information but also print out the calculation and send to you by e mail, fax or mail at your instructions. This is a very valuable benefit as many firms charge for this service.
Our Essential Forms Program is used to prepare legal pleadings. This is a very complex area of the law as the forms are constantly changing and the use of an “old” form will result in a rejection of the filing and may delay the case. As such, our program is updated every six months to insure the most accurate pleading forms. You may also access some limited forms on the San Diego Superior Court official website. Our office will send a blank template of any one form from our Essential Forms program at no charge as a benefit for viewing our website with a written request.
Once a judgment of dissolution is final, it is very important to prepare and create a new estate plan. Our firm has prepared many revocable living trusts and other estate plans for our family law clients. We have had cases where a family law client was ill and prepared a new will and other cases in which a family law client, after their divorce or before re marriage, wanted a new estate plan. We give the same personal attention to all of our clients.
Our information on preparation for the initial consultation, whether or not you hire our firm or another firm, will assist you in knowing what to bring to the consultation. This will save you the time of having to travel back and forth for another appointment if you do not have the documents necessary for the attorney to give you an informed and intelligent opinion or to begin the pleadings in your case. As all divorce and legal separation cases in California must have an Income and Expense Declaration and Schedule of Assets and Debts completed to fulfill the mandatory requirements of the Preliminary Declaration of Disclosure for a Judgment to be granted by the Court, the last three pay stubs and all accounts [mortgage, vehicle, secured and unsecured debt] will be needed. It is best to have as much prepared when you set your initial consultation.
Our Legal Seminar Notes give viewers the most recent topics discussed at family law seminars. These are very useful and are in outline format. Under the California State Bar requirements, all attorneys must complete mandatory continuing education of the bar in order maintain a current license. These legal seminar notes are compiled from the information from the presenter and also from the written materials. These notes are updated as the attorney[s] attend seminars.
