In San Diego, divorce, legal separation and paternity cases are heard in the San Diego Superior Court. There are five court houses in San Diego County which hear paternity, legal separation and divorce cases. They can have different hours of operation but all have the same holidays. Some holidays are not ones which litigants expect and it is frustrating to go to court to file pleadings or for some other purpose and the court is closed. With a paternity, legal separation or divorce case, there are strict time lines for filing so make sure you are within these rules and an unknown holiday can make the difference between the pleadings being timely filed or not. This article was prepared with information from the official San Diego Superior Court website but hours can change so it is very important to contact the court first. In the past years, due to budget cutbacks, there have been other days which the court’s were closed administratively which were not considered to be included in the holiday schedule.
Below are the hours of operation and, again, please verify before going to the court house. In addition, the below are opening hours for the facility itself but the business office {filing of pleadings} has a different schedule.
Central Family Law Court House: | 8:00am |
Madge Bradley Court House: | 8:00am |
East County Court House: | 7:00am |
North County Court House: | 7:30am |
South County Court House: | 7:30am |
